Component Manufacturing includes state-of-the-art services such as product management, supply chain management, inventory planning and management, order processing, and global fulfillment. GWS’ manufacturing services include pre-press, proofing, printing (offset and on-demand), box printing and manufacturing, finishing and binding, CD-ROM manufacturing, diskette, tape and CD-R duplication, product assembly and fulfillment, and distribution.
GWS provides each customer with dedicated account managers as the interface for using the wide variety of its services. Each new customer/product is assigned a Program Management team that incorporates a full time Senior Account Manager and an Account Manager, along with part time support from a “pre-flight” specialist, inventory planner, production control planner and quality engineer. The team manages the overall workflow within GWS, communications with the customer, as well as the customer’s specifications and data. The team also constantly strives to lower costs, improve processes, and shorten cycle times for each customer or product.
GWS’ expertise in project management, production, and distribution makes the project management team excellent supply chain managers. The team coordinates third party purchases and service providers, giving clients added flexibility and extended solutions. Our systems centralize project schedules and specifications, maintain revision/version integrity, and integrate all project components into one set of project performance metrics.
Of particular importance in today’s competitive environment is GWS’ Build-to-Order service, based on its Modular Integrated Manufacturing System (MIMS) system, a state-of-the-art, flexible manufacturing cell that can rapidly build-to-order a small number of finished software products or components. The MIMS system is critical part of our solutions to deliver products on-demand without inventory. No other supply chain service provider, printing company, or fulfillment company has this capability. MIMS allows customers to operate on a “no-inventory” business model with a 24-hour cycle time from order to ship.
