Through a series of acquisitions, a leading networking manufacturer of data and voice technologies experienced rapid growth while becoming one of the most innovative and respected companies in the industry. The acquisitions resulted in multiple suppliers and project management practices and added complexity to business operations. Each acquired product family had its own packaging specifications, unique box design, artwork, and documentation requirements. Forecasting materials and product demand through the multiple systems and suppliers was difficult and frequently inaccurate.
When obsolescence reached 16% they recognized the need to implement a standard and streamlined approach across their global supply chain.

The client’s global network of external manufacturers became empowered to control inventory by ordering smaller quantities at increased frequencies.
GlobalWare teamed with the client’s Product Managers to consolidate and re-engineer packaging, artwork, and documentation covers across the product lines. Inventory was significantly reduced as a direct result. To achieve additional savings, GlobalWare became a designated direct shipping point for the client’s products.
Implementation of a Build-to-Order manufacturing model resulted in lower volume “short-run” products for projects such as new product introductions, beta and end-of-life products.
